Looks like I'm gonna be skipping a Friday of classes in October.

Every week or so, I'll post a song from one of these artists, to keep myself in the vibe, to keep y'all in the know, and just because that's what I'm doing on this blog, anyhoo.

What about you guys? Any bands that strike your fancy? Anybody have tickets and/or are for sure going because they wouldn't miss this for anything?

[audio] Lemonade - "Neptune"

With their new album, Diver, set to release on May 29th, the preview of "Neptune" promises us something good for our aural pleasure. It's dreamy and slow synth-y spirit is enough to make you drift off and hope that you never come back. Lemonade has shown that not only can they provide the impeccable balance between vocal harmony and background aura, but that they are able to transition - without difficulty - from their eccentric and worldly sound, such as Sunchips, from the self-titled album released back in 2008, to a dream-pop majesty.

[video] Modeselektor (feat. Thom Yorke) - "Shipwreck"

Modeselektor's album, Monkeytown, released in 2011, contained yet another Thom Yorke hit, Shipwreck. Mixing his broken and airy vocals with the peppy drum beat and sinister ambiance creates the perfect combination as we've seen in the Modeselektor remix of Thom's Skip Divided and even a second collab in the same album titled "This". The song overall has a nice rhythm and flow that's easy to sink into. Not to mention, the music video's pretty enticing as well. Even though the zombie concept is a little overused nowadays, it has it's own special feel to make it special-y and captivating.

[video] Purity Ring - "Obedear"

Ex-members of Gobble Gobble, Megan James and Corin Roddick, the components of the Canadian based indie band Purity Ring, announced their debut album, Shrines, on April 23rd of this year. Much anticipated after the release of the first full track, "Obedear", the album is scheduled to launch on July 24th. With their special electo-future-pop sound, the duo fulfill our expectation for the same uncanny vibe we've gotten from them since Ungirthed.
